I am a hard core carbon shaft user. I have just finished my first composite bow, osage backed with bamboo and need some shafts for it. WILL NOT USE POC. Wanting something tough like hickory or ash. Need suggestions on where to get some. Thanks ahead of time.

I second mysticguido on that, and yes ash is a good choice.

I like poplar. Shafts weigh just a bit more than cedar. jawge

Ted from Raptor just put some Osage footings on my spuce shafts. They look great, are heavier up front now and tough as nails.

Killinstuff, what does something like that cost? Can you post some pics?

I get my ash shafts from Bill at Allegany Mountain Arrow Woods. dino

Use Ocean Spray shoots or bamboo.
Ocean Spray is very dense and tough.
Bamboo is very tough and forgivable of spine.

I was just looking for a tougher shaft also.  I called Ted at Raptor Archery and he fixed me up with some ash.  He answered all my questions and got me hooked up with exactly what I needed.  He will have my business in the future.
