Where does a guy have to go to when he's having problems with a bowyer??? What recourse does a person have???

If the bowyer is intentionally not cooperating, you tell us about it.  It is important to know the details someone will tell you if you have a real beef or if you misunderstand the expectations of the your purchase.

The ones I have dealt with have been stand up folks who will go out of their way to fix any issues-within reason-to do with their products.

Well, Guys I like to think that this is the place for me to come to to get advice from anything from sharpening BH's to talking about how good customer service is with such and such bowyers.... But for some reason they ain't allowin me to voice my concerns here? Or even giving other guys here time to jump in??? I've had 5 folks from this site PM me with out even asking them to about this situation over the past month. They are all in the same fix as I am.... I am sure there are others if they were just given the chance to come out with out the thread bein locked up before it is even started??

I have purchased more than my share of custom bows and most of the time have had no problems.

If a bow was going to be late the bowyer contacted me and explained.  No big deal.  A lot of these guys have jobs and the bow business is a side line.  I have recieved bows 6 months late and as long as the bowyer was up front about it it was fine with me.

But when it appears that someone may not ever get you the product and is still accepting money and will not accept your calls or return email I have a problem with that.

I have seen warnings on this site about people being dishonest in the classified section so why not do the same with a bowyer?

At least allow someone to post a question so that we can PM each other. Thanks.  Mike.

Thank you Mike. You hit the Nail on the head.

If someone was working a scam on the bow classfieds, there would be a permanent thread warning people about it. Maybe someone can explain the difference when a bowyer is taking money and not returning emails or phone calls.
Maybe we should start a feedback forum like the auction site. Why not? Let's just be reasonable!

Bowyers and their clients have mutual responsibilities.  The biggest problem by far is communications at every level and usually the first client concern is not getting return communication from the bowyer.

Give it a reasonable period of time, perhaps two weeks.  If you can't get a response within that time frame, make sure you've done everything possible to contact your bowyer.  This means phone calls as well as emails.

If there is still no communication from your bowyer after three weeks, PM or email me directly - rob@tradgang.com - with the exact details of your bow transaction from day one to the present.

DO NOT MAKE A POST ABOUT YOUR CONCERNS ON TRAD GANG.  We will most likely pull it.

Thread is now closed.
