I've owned multiple Black Widow bows, but never a PMA.  Been looking at the Greenleaf examples on here and trying to decide between Zircote and a Greenleaf riser.  Anyone have any evidence the laminated wood is better than an exotic?

I have owned many Widows over the years. I don't feel there are any performance gains with the exotic woods as the performance comes from the limb design and the limb cores. I "think" that Widow uses the same core material in all of their models with the PL series having a thin inner layer of carbon. Carbon on the back and belly of the limbs does enhance the performance, but not enough to justify the cost (for me, but I'm cheap). Some of the exotic woods are heavier if you prefer more weight and Widow does off G10 risers if you like a heavy bow. Personal preference, but I'm a Greybark, Autumn Oak, Greenleaf fan. My first Widow was an MAB...an MA that was painted black. Never worried about scratches and if I did scratch it, touching it up was a breeze!

When I first started shooting bows, Black Widows were the heaviest bows I shot, and any other bow I picked up felt too light to me.  Now I'm shooting more ILF bows and bows with phenolic risers that are all heavier than my Black Widows, and find that I like the extra weight.  I think that if I were to buy another Black Widows, I would buy the heaviest wood they had, which at one time was the Ironwood model.
