I have some Wensel Woodsman that I would love to use this season.  However, I am shooting 45# at 25 from my Black Widow PCH.  Hunting whitetail in Illinois.  Thoughts? What concerns me is me T-Rex arms and short draw length.   My arrows will be a 2016 cut to 28" with 145 grain broadheads with the insert.

If you have a penetration issue on a deer with the narrow woodsmans with that setup it's not related to the head, but shot placement. You hit a big bone with that setup and you won't get penetration no matter the head. Go shoot'em in the ribs with the woodsmans, no problem!

Arrow tune and shot placement are your friend.  I know I've done just fine with the woodsman from 45 to 60lb bows.  Good blood trails even with the smaller head.

I got complete pass throughs with woodsman out of my 47lb Palmer but I used Carbon Express 150's with a steel insert on the woodsman with total arrow weight of around 540gr or so.

Put a sharp head on a tuned arrow in the ribs of any critter with 10 grains per pound and punch your tag. It's the Indians job to put the arrow where it needs to go. WW will get er done it has proven itself for many years.

I have to agree with Ryan, I just wish Wensel heads came in a bit more weight for my heavy bows.

The Woodsman is a great head. The standard ones can take a variety of inserts that can make them heavier to match your tune requirements. I use my Woodsman heads with 100 gr brass inserts and that has proven to be a very deadly combination. Shoot them with confidence, they are great.
