Recommendations for an extra WIDE lightweight hiking boot?

I have been blessed with size 12 4E feet and finding comfortable boots has always been a challenge. I'm not planning on climbing any mountains, just a decent "woods" boot for scouting, stump shooting and early deer season. I am hoping that some of you have some suggestions for a comfortable and hopefully economical hiking boot. Thanks>>>------>Mike

Hey Mike have you tried on wide sizes of Merrill Moab's? They are generally pretty chunky width wise.

The MOABs caught my eye but haven't found any place locally that have the wide fit in stock. My have to make a trip to the "big city" aka Indianapolis to try a pair. Thanks Ryan!

I also have xtra wide feet. The Merrill moans fit ok, but I really like keens boots. Their wides are very roomy and have a big toe box. I've been wearing the targhee 2 and the pittsburgh energy return boots - they have a little more ankle support for rough terrain.

Altra makes a very wide and comfortable boot. Super light too. I like all their shoes and boots.

I strongly recommend OrthoFeet. Go to their website and enter "hiking boots" on the search window. You will find great hiking boots in a true 12 EEEE.

I got some of these after problems with plantar fasciitis. they are great. love the wide toe box.

I too have a wide foot and find Merrill MOAB boots maybe a EE wide

I have an old pair that were comfortable enough to jog in. When the soles separated from the leather they sat in my to-do pile for a fews years, lol...finally cleaned, glued and waterproofed, now my back up boots I keep in a behind the seat bag. Breaking in a new pair with the lawn mower this week, fingers crossed, I hope they're as great as the old ones, (no heel blisters).

I have the Jim Green Razorback hiking boot. They are a 3E. Good boots but not the lightest. That being said they will last you a long time they are very tough and well made boots and pretty cheap.

I also agree with streamguy on the Keen boots...the square toe box has room for 4x-wide...

I also have a pair of theses Keens in xx-wide...made in USA...They are excellent for the price point...
