I've been looking at them on the net.. They don't look like the handiest thing in the world to set up, put they also look like they might just be "The Thing" for those special trees that the average stands just don't fit..
Anyone have any experience, comments or feed back on them??

TTT,, I guess this is not the most popular stand around. Just figured someone had tried them.

No experiance with them here.  I have heard of them but never seen one or know of anyone using one in VA. Not a bad looking stand though.

The only stand I've used since 1993. They are easy to set up, and will go in tree's other stands can't.

Ken,

I asked the same question over a year ago on Trad Gang and got fewer responses than you have. I was looking for something lighter than a Screaming Eagle, but as sturdy and safe with the SE's high seat, no nylon strap for attachment, large platform, etc. I finally ordered a brochure. Looks like it uses steel cable for attachment to the tree (SE uses a heavy chain), but what concerned me was that the locking mechanism appears to be a lever clamp (for lack of a better description) located right behing your calf. Looked to me as if you could accidentally release the clamp if you weren't careful. Thus, I decided to stick with my Screaming Eagles.

Maybe Bowhawk can address the attachment system. I never heard from any one that had ever used one.

I hunted in Iowa with a police officer from Denver and he used the Lil Mohican stands.  They worked nicely in crooked trees and seemed plenty stable.  I have never seen another one, but I would like to have a couple.

Dave,, that would probably be Bowhawk from above.
Jeff I am interested in one due to it's flexibility.
I doubt it will compete with my LW as far as ease of hanging etc, but I am definitely interested and looking for feedback.
Hopefully the lit will show up tomorrow

The stand is attached to the tree by aircraft cable, which is lighter and less noisy than chain. The locking clamp does not get in the way at all, and have never had one come open accidently.

I belive Bob Taylor at Bobs Archery Sales has made the stand a little bit bigger than the original ones. Mine weigh 11 lbs.

Bowhawk,

Thanks for clearing that up!

The police officer I hunted with was Steve Barnhill.  Great guy.

I've had one for close to ten years and not a problem, I'm on the side of age and weight that keeps going up geometrically and no problems.

I visited with Bob today and will probably be ordering one as soon as I sell the LW Alpha I have listed in the classifieds.
Seat is clamped much as a bicycle seat post is..
The leveling feet are telescoping tubes, moved via a threaded knob.
The cable clamp is stolen from a bicycle too, and there is a reduntant clamp for the cable to avoid falling if the clamp should slip.
I believe he told  me it was made of 4140 Aircraft tubing, and powder coated..
Weight is listed at 11 lbs, platform is 24 x 20, I think that is about the same as the LW Assault
