Hello all,
Looking for input and/or advice about the Black Eagle Vintage shafts.  I've never seen any in person, or even talked to anyone thats used them.

I've been shooting Carbon Express Heritage 250 for years, but I'm down to my last dozen. So I'm searching for a replacement.

I have a long draw (31.5") and the Vintage is 34" long, which is nice.

I'm also looking for a lighter colored shaft, and these check that box.  Tired of spray painting Primer Gray on my arrows.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any input/advice ya'll might have.

I switched to them after CE discontinued the heritage shaft. I really like them and have no complaints. They spine consistent and are durable. I have even bought their ready made arrows, crowned and fletched.  Very happy with them.

Thanks Lefty, I was starting to wonder if anyone else had even heard of these shafts!

Black Eagle Vintages are one of the best standard Carbon arrow shafts built, they are super consistent spine to spine and spin true as a top. They are super tough and just a great arrow. The nocks are junk, I recommend throwing them in the trash can and getting you some AAE IP6 nocks from Arizona Archery, or you can buy them from 3Rivers or Lancaster.

Most all arrows come with junk nocks that are brittle.

I have killed a pile of critters with Black Eagle Vintages and have yet to break one. I currently shoot the discontinued Black Eagle Instinct with is the micro version.

Tall Paul

Thanks Trad_hunter for your opinion.  I've been using the same arrow brand for so long, I really haven't kept up with what all else is out there on the market.

Great arrows. Tough and look good. Nice finish on them. I've been using them for several years and am very happy with them.
LONG LIVE THE LONGBOW!

Thanks Wally.  Before I started this thread, I did a search here on Tradgang and not a single thread came up.  Either the old threads disappeared or never existed?

There are a pile of guys shooting them. I find them more consistent than anything carbon Easton makes or many of the others. Not only are they consistent they are tough and 34" long. BTW their straightness is measured at the full length not just 28". Very impressive, excellent company, great products. I order directly from black eagle and have my stuff in 2-3 business days ups. That's customer service.

I always have be vintage shafts on hand.  I wish they'd offer 700 and 800 spine.  I find myself shooting the 500s out of my light bows from time to time--- even though they're too stiff for my set up they always seem to land in the spot if this makes sense.  Great finish and construction.

Thanks for the responses rifleman and tradhunter.  I had never even heard of the company until I saw the shafts in the 3rivers catalog.  Have they been making the Vintage shafts very long?
