Hey all,
I have a Miami Valley recurve that I recently traded for and had a couple of questions.

First: Who makes them? Does anyone have contact info?

Second: Are they normally FF compatible? Here's a pic of the limb tip, looks to be white 'glass or maybe horn?

TIA for any info,

Kevin

Rick Wray, just west of Cincinnati, makes the Miami Valley bows...maybe somebody will jump in with a phone number. His bow are good shooters and all the ones that I've seen are fastflight ready, including the one you have pictured.

Ferret might have some idea since he's from that area.  They used to stock and sell some Miami Valley bows out of Stenger's Archery in Addyston, OH.

Thanks Rabbitman! I thought the overlay looked OK for FF, but knowing my luck, I figured I would make sure.

I'll wait and see if Ferret or someone else has some contact info. I want to check brace ht. and have a question or two for the bowyer. This one shoots really nice, it bamboo lams with a layer of carbon. Pretty fast to my uncalibrated eyeball, especially given the weight.

Thanks to TG'ers for being in the know. I talked to Rick Wray (Heck of a guy!) and got the skinny on my Miami Valley recurve. Super bow and super guy to talk with.

I adjusted the brace ht. to what he remembered for it, since he was driving home while we were talking, and my already good groups shrunk by half. At 20yds it put 4 shafts into 2.5". And the group was basically right on the money, even before I've shot it enough to program the old noodle. I'm amazed to say the least. I've always praised my Appalachian Archery bows, but this one is as good a shooter as any of my babies. Here's a 20yd group and this is as good as I ever get at 20.

This bow came to me as part of a trade, along with an Acadian Woods recurve. Now to be honest, I wanted the Acadian Woods and figured I'd shoot the Miami Valley a bit, then trade it off. But after shooting both of them, if it came to sealing the deal on a deer, I'd take out the Miami Valley. Stupid me, I'd even offered it on a couple of trades, so "Thanks!" to the guys who turned it down. This one is on my keep list.
