Ok, I am using Rustoleum Gloss enamel out of a spray can and wondered if the minwax oil based polyurethane would be ok for the clear? This is on wood arrows also. I am going to use Bob Burtons cresting paint for the crest. Thanks for replies. Flint

Bob's water-based cresting paints will be fine under the Minwax, but the Minwax may cause your enamel to loosen and run (for lack of a better description). I assume that the enamel is for a cap dip. General rule of thumb - used water-based cresting paints with oil or lacquer finish. If you have to dip in an oil finish after using oil-based cresting paints (e.g., Testors), dip the crested end in Minwax polyacrylic (water based) first. That will keep your crest from running, especially the metalic paints.
