Anyone find out they have been successful drawing a good tag yet?

I put in for Montana elk, but haven't heard on that one yet.  My Indiana deer draw aren't till much later in the year. dino

Cooch, that's exciting! Hope to see some pictures with antlers in them.

Steadman, I know of one guy that has had his credit card charged for a LE Utah elk tag as of yesterday! So, I called the 800 number and that is what she said...wait until Wed. So, I have been checking my credit card! Nothing yet! Good luck hope you draw.

In years past here, you could count on getting an email the Sun before. On my bear this year the charge didn't show up til the day before. The email came later that night. Good luck to you also. If you draw, let me know for what and where, I have contacts all over the state.

Wat to go Cooch! That sounds very exciting!

Hey Dino,
How many years did it take to draw, it seems like it is every other year but I am on a 2 year drought for elk tags!

I'm not sure if I should be glad I saw this post or not. Almost forgot to apply for Idaho sheep which is due April 30. Might have saved myself $155 if I hadn't. Applying in seven or eight states and needing to buy a hunting license in able to do so in many is getting kind of expensive. That and many of those states require the cost of a tag up front to apply as well. I can see where the old saying " if you want to play you have to pay" comes into effect here. In the last few months I've written checks and charged my credit card to state game departments for $10,000 just to stay in the game. Granted I will get most of that money back by not drawing a tag but I think it is still costing me nearly $1,000 in license and application fees a year just to apply. Given the odds of drawing a sheep tag in those states I feel stupid for even trying. What's that other saying " A fool and his money" ?

Jack, I can't afford that kind of effort to be in that many "games".  But a few is good enough for me. I don't like the way the tag apps. game is going. But when you get quite a few points saved up it is hard to turn your back on it. But that is a whole different thread!

David,

Sorry, didn't mean to get off the subject. I will have fifteen points for elk in Colorado next year and should be able to finally draw a tag in one of the best units there. Until then, likely no tags for me.

Was supposed to learn of the CO sheep and goat draw results today, but there is a "glitch in the system" so we have to suffer another week........

MT results have been available for the elk/deer draw for a while.  I get a refund.

Hate those "glitches" Jeff.  Bad timing on their part! lol
