So a buddy dips some tapered shafts and the thicker part of the shaft has finish on it, but the tapered end is wiped clean. What gives? Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks

How many coats and did he alternate ends when he dipped?  I just did my first set with tapered chundoo and didn't have any trouble.  Used 6 coats and alternated ends with each dip.

Thanks. I will tell him to alternate ends, he did not. I will see if that solves the problem.

He might also use a new gasket. The holes do get bigger after time. Also make sure the gasket laq. is at least 70 degress. The warmer the better. Yes, he needs to alternate ends each time. I have dipped tapered and barrel tapered shafts with no problems.
