Blessed One

Just wanted to say hello to everyone, and tell about my 1st trad 3d shoot. I was introduced to archery hunting at the end of 2006. Last year I had an incredible 1st year bowhunting with a compuond, and harvested a 231 pount 9 point that scored over 130 and 3 does. I have a traditional shop in Brandon Mississippi 5 minutes from my house called Copperhead bows. Terry the owner builds some incredible recurves and longbows. The first try at shooting trad was not pretty, but Terry has been patient to let me come by use his range and pick his brain. I shoot a borrowed custome Dakota recurve 58# @28" made for a friend of mine by Rick Welsh. I almost gave up several times, but I have fallen in love with shooting traditional. After 4 months of shooting, it all came together this week, and I have found my form.

I shot in my first trad 3d shoot yesterday evening and out of a possible 200 points I scored 117 and only had 1 miss out of 20 shots. Many of the shots that were not 10 or 8 were not good for scoring 3d points, but they were right in the boiler room as far as a hunting shot. I now have the confidence that I can hunt traditional and expect to harvest the animal not just wound it. I use to be a great golfer, but I have fallen in love with the flight of the arrow. Hello to all and thank everyone for all the great info I have learned alot and look forward to my first year of trad hunting.  :bigsmyl:
