much has recently been written about both the arrow dynamics and grizzly sticks and how wonderfully they perform.  my question is from a standpoint of ballistics, and not one of penetration;  are they really all that?  i shoot carbon shafts, heavy foc, and can bareshaft out to 40 yards w/o a problem.  stack them up at 20 yards.  what do i stand to gain by taking the quantum leap to tapered carbons?  will my accuracy improve that much?  arrow speed and stability?  i mostly shoot target and am always experimenting and fine tuning, but have not yet made the commitment to these arrows.  am i missing out?

Christopher, imho, don't fix what ain't broke. sounds like you have a great arrow combination that works for you. I don't think you will see any substantial improvements just because of the taper. Personally, I don't like the tapered shafts. I tried and tried and tried and simply could not get the flight I wanted from them out of any of my bows, but get exactly what I want out of multiple non tapered shafts. I'm one of the only 3 people I know that have said that, 99.9% of everyone else loves them...they are simply not for me.

That said, no reason not to try a few if you get the opportunity, especially if you like to play with your equipment. With so many choices out there, I don't think you really need to "make a commitment" to any arrows unless you just want to. I shoot 2-3 different shafts out of my favorite bow and choose them pretty much on a whim because all are tuned to the bow.
