I have two blade stinger broadheads with bleeders, and I've been hearings some talk about just straight two blade stinger's, I am setting up a Longbow and a recurve, both are at 43#, I'm using Axis 500's arrow weight is 295 gr.  Without broadhead. I want my total arrow weight at 450 - 480 gr. I'm thinking I would like to use something around 150 gr.  Broadheads, some have said that the two blade is better than the two blade with bleeders.  But I'm more concerned about the stability of the broadhead, and maximum blood trail also.

Some opinions please.

Thanks

Carl, either one would probably work.  For my bows under 50#, however, I go with 2 blade broadheads.  Only once did I not get a good bloodtrail.  That is because the arrow passed through both lungs and stuck in the far shoulder blade.  Deer went down within sight.  45# Martin Mamba, 2016 with 2 blade 125 grain stinger...Mike

Do the two blade stingers with bleeders, have more problems with wind ?  I do have 125 gr two blaze with bleeders, but that brings my arrow wt. at 435 gr.  For total arrow wt., I thought that would be to light.  But I guess it would get the job done, but I want to be prepare for the worst scenario, hiting bone.

I shoot 47 to 49 @ 27 inch...switched to 2 blade stinger last year with Beamon MFX..shot 2 deer that fell within site..i like them..stability is fine...just stay out of bone.

All Stingers fly wonderfully IMO, I think with Stingers it comes down more to personal preference than anything.  Pick the one that turns your crank and go hunt.

I believe we have the best selection of 150 Stingers going:

Brokenarrow, I may be way off base, but I don't think the extra 25 grains warrants another purchase if you have the 125's already.  If you are worried about hitting bone you should definitely stick with the 2 blade heads...Mike

I was just thinking about the weight, and I think that I should just stop worrying about it.  And give the ones I have try.  You know how it is, you listen to these guys that one I have got away upfront, and it starts affecting you !

My axis 500's are good penetrating arrows.  And I can always take the bleeders out.  If I want to blades.  But I do get them at a pretty good price at my archery shop.  At least well and still working there.  Been thinking about quitting.

But thanks guys for all the help !

I've also been going back and forth with feathers, and Blazers.  Raised arrow rest, or off-the-shelf.

As if guy doesn't have enough problems !  Tuning in two, not just one.

Thanks

Just a heads up, the Stinger 4 blade is designed for the bleeders to be installed, unlike some other heads you can't simply take them out without adverse effects.

Good hunting!

I bought my stingers from bravheart archery... Fantastic to deal with, I shoot the 150 gr 4 blade to, they fly great. I to had a question about removing and they had told me that they were not ment to be taken out so I left them in... who am I to argue with the experts.

The bleeders are so small on the stingers I would leave them in and not worry about it.They will work just fine.jmo

I use the 100 grain two blades with bleeders and a 100 grain brass insert.  I think the smaller main blade on these 100s helps with penetration and the brass insert gets my weight up.  They also make the brass inserts in 50 grain as well.

Carl, don't know much about the Stingers, but I was wondering if you got your bow yet and how you like it?  Mine is shooting lights out!  Paul.

Paul,

I haven't received my Bob Lee yet, I talked to Rob today, since they put deer tracks on my bow, the first Bob Lee to have deer tracks on it, they had to put a couple other coats of finish on, I told them I was going to put photos on Tradgang, and he was in trouble now, because he will get all kinds of requests for that.

Should be here about Friday

I am shooting the 4 blade 150 grain right now and I love them they fly great and have killed 2 hogs with no lack of penetration or blood trail. But, I am shooting a 60 pound recurve and a 615 grain arrow, I dont know about the sizes but the stinger broadhead is a great head that flys and cuts great.
