Cheapo Easton shafts

Picked up some Easton Stalker 2117 arrows a while back out of the bargain bin at the local dept store. For that cheap I could use them for something.

I'm tryin to find the right arrow for my Shrew, shot some GGII 2216 with a bunch of weight up front, a tad stiff. Figured the 2117 might be about right, they seemed just as stiff or stiffer than the 2216.

So I put them on the spine tester, 2216 was 85lb, right where they should be. The 2117 was 90-91 lb !!

I new they were'nt a great shaft but I figured they would be spined properly, so much for a good deal!!

How much weight are you drawing? I just went the same route with a stewart long bow @ 60Lb. I got the 2117 stalkers to shoot dead nuts with a 200 gr
point from 3-rivers.

You can get them cheap but you get what you pay for.Years ago I bought some cheap 2219's and if I missed the target and they hit hard ground I would have a bent arrow.They only have about 53,000 lbs. tensile strength while an XX75 has around 95,000 lbs. strength.And the XX75 will hold up alot better.Those cheap 2219's would just bend to easliy and they were 2219's.

An XX75 2117 spine 78 lbs, the Stalker 2117 spines 91 lbs. I'm shooting 53 lbs @ 30". I just bought them to have a few around for testing, but they aint even good for that, they're not even close to a xx75.
