I was shooting my new carbon arrows and hit the wooden under frame to my U-Fill-it target.  Trying to pry out the arrow I left the insert and field point stuck in the wood (I litterally DESTROYED the insert trying to pry it out with pliers, screwdriver, teeth, etc).  Yes...I suck.
 :knothead:

Is there a place to order just inserts and new 125gr field points?  How do I specify what I need?  Do I need some special type of adhesive to get the insert into the carbon?

I'm shooting Gold Tip Expedition Hunters 5575 with 125gr field points.

Thanks fellars!  I think I found what I need on the 3 Rivers website.

How do I know which measurment to order of my field points?  I know my bowyer told me they were 125gr but what is 5/15" or 11/32"?  Is that the thread or length or...?

3 Rivers....I glue all my inserts in with superglue  ;)    The size you get depends on what arrows you shoot. What arrows do you shoot?

5/16 and 11/32 are the diameter of the field point, which should match the diameter of your arrow.

Thanks Rick...just placed an order with them for inserts and some more field points.

What's the best glue for gluing inserts to carbon arrows?

dino

Savate,
I use the easton epoxy.  I got away from powerbond because the bottles would go bad before I ever got to the bottom.

Do you remeber who you talked to at 3R about the inserts?  Curious because they do have them there.  I just go some a couple of weeks ago. dino

I got my inserts but haven't chosen a method of glue yet...everyone recommends "hot melt glue" bue when I went to the local hardware store, they looked at me like I had three heads.

What the hec is that stuff?

All you need is a thick superglue, not the gel just thick liquid. Be sure and clean the inside of the shaft with alcohol or acetone. Doesn't hurt to lightly sand the inside of the shaft for a better bond either. Just enough to roughen the slick  surface inside the shaft.
