Had to go south for a funeral last week.  Took the opportunity to harvest several bundles of river cane.  My question is, how long should it dry before  I start making arrows?

Here's how I do mine. I like to give 'em a minimum of 4-6 wks  drying time before initial straightening and then take 'em in the house and leave 'em for another two wks. Re-straighten once more after that and they're good to go. -ART B

Look at the color. It should turn a yellowish or caramel color.
Got wood? - Tom
