Spring steel for clickers

Was going to build a couple clickers and was looking for suggestions on spring steel for the clicker part.  A old tape measure was about the closest I could think of off hand, but not exactly what I was looking for, although it may work.  Any other suggestions?

they sell clickers for dog training. those things are cheap, less then a doller cheap. They click pretty good.

My friend and archery mentor made his from a Snapple bottle cap!  Works great.
