He needs 75-80 fellows.  I thought I could help him out, but my shafts weren't heavy enough grain weight for him.

Brian: I made a jig that bolts onto my stand up belt sander. I can taper almost any shaft at about a one per minute rate. It doesn't matter if it is  hardwood or softwood.

Bill would you mine showing a picture of your jig?

I was looking for 75-80# spine and a raw shaft of 650-750gr.

If you guys got some like that let me know I'll buy some.

Thanks in advance

Anyone else try bacote?  I found a really straight-grained piece and shot out an arrow on my friends home-made arrow shooter.  It seems to be about a time and a half the weight of my red oak hunting arrows.  One beauty of a shaft too.

Excellence is achieved, not purchased.

doctari: If I remember to do it I will.

Emanuel: I have some 70-75 maple shafts that are 600+. If I have any in the 75-80 range they should make your weight. I'll check out what I have and get back to you.
