Pre-finished shafts....how do I crest?

I won some prefinished 3Rivers POC shafts at a trad banquet. I am wondering how I go about crown and cresting these. Do you know if they use gasket lacquer on these? If so, what kind of paint should I use to crown and crest and what should I use to final dip in?  I don't use gasket lacquer usually. Can I just crown and crest and not do an overcoat for a finish? Or would this not provide a good protective sealer for the paint?  Any help would be appreciated.

I try to avoid pre finished just for those reasons; you can crest pre finished in your usual way and dip again to finish. I use raptor dip from raptorarchery.com for the final finish. Wipe on stuff might or might not work, ans clear spray would be an option.

Thanks Bjorn. Not knowing what they are finished with I what to make sure the final finish is compatiable....? I looked on 3Rivers website and they finish them with gasket lacquer. Would spar urathene work over that?

IMO that will work; allow your cresting an extra day to dry if you are brushing or wiping.
