A guy at work brought in some old arrows with  three blade BH on them. The heads were black, about a 3:1 ratio and at the rear had a punch out tab that looks like it was made to stop penetration. I've never seen anything like them. He's supposed to send me a picture, but does anyone have an idea who made them?
Is it too late to be what I could have been?

Falk

John, your description of the broadheads is not very graphic and I don't know if I understood but it may be a Biggame Bigras what you have seen. It has more of a 3.5:1 ration though, but a stamped out "cutting ring" at it's ferrules base.

Falk

The Biggame Bigras is shown at about half past four in this picture of pretty different 3-bld style broadheads:

It may be a trail eze as seen on the cover of the latest TBH.

John Nail

Yup. It looks like the 4:30 o'clock head. When were they made?

The Biggame Biggras dates back to 1956, inventor was Norm Bigras from Alpena, Michigan.

The idea behind this kind of heads was that they would punch a hole and leave a better blood trail. But I feel that your looks like it was made to stop penetration statement might be exactly what it was?!

BTW: a Trail Eze is to be seen at 11:30 in my picture

Good night!

Probably makes it a great choice for the little critters though...
