Killdeer

I am betting someone's bamboo fled the confines of the garden. It was very popular as a screening plant back in the sixties. The lady put it in, she got old and maybe passed on, and there is the uncontrolled mass. I still grub out stuff at Dad's that my mother planted back then. She is gone, but the bamboo is eternal!

And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Some varieties of Bamboo are a nightmare to contain unless you do it up front.

Well what it is is.....lol.....all the whatchyoumaycallits shafting I will ever need for this old boy.......woohoo.  It does look like it is going to make some awesome shafting.  Nice wall thickness, mostly straight with little angle at the nodes.  And the little leaf at the node hardly shows any indentation up the shaft.  I think I will keep em...lol

Yep Cane. Stewart mater steaks. Works good for duck blinds on your boat. Get the smaller stuff and weave it into chicken wire. You should be able to get some shsafting out of it.

I went and measured a couple of pieces. One piece at the top was 1/4 and tapered down to just over 3/8.  The other piece was 9/16 at the bottom and tapered to 5/16.  This was a 36" piece.  It is straghter than and cane that I have here now that was given to me.  There is hardly any indentation just above the node and there is almost no angle above the nodes.  I hope it dries like this, and has some decent weight, and I will be in cane heaven for sure
