Yeah, that's bocote alright!  Looks like you made a great choice.  Have fun.

DannyBows

You got a sweet lookin' bow there. I like the design in the riser, and those Bocote limbs are sharp. Great natural camo too. I just started shooting longbows this year also. I got two 56" hybrid longbows and can't put them down. Haven't shot any of my recurves for months.
  Good luck with her!

one more thing i might add about the bow, which I've never seend on any other longbow, limbs are shaped like a trapazoid.
thanks

Trapped limbs are fairly common on longbows. Some are narrow on the back and some on the belly. I'm not sure why, perhaps the materials make a difference. My Kanati has trapped limbs as well, but yours is not a JK bow. Sorry, I can't tell you who did make it.

Very nice looking bow though!

hey bob I checked out berry's bows!
i think we have a winner!

I say that because I'm lookin at the lines his Renaissance bow has in its riser,

they are just the same as my longbow!!

thank you!

still not a hundred percent sure though lol!

though the tips are kinda of a throw off!

I guess it helps to have owned about every bow made...  :)   James Berry used to make bows with "normal" tips like that...It seems like my favorite Pit/Pin Viper was a lot like yours.  If it had been less than 70# I would still own it.
You have a nice one there.
