Looking to hear from anyone with experience using the 100gr brass inserts 3rivers sells for Axis type shafts. Are they inserted as deep as standard HIT inserts? And do they effect spine equally as well as point weight or do they simply add weight.I'd assume they effect spine just dont know as to what degree.

Thanks in advance

don't shoot HIT but GT's and yes, they do affect spine, equally as head weight.

Thanks!Thats what I figured.I'll be shooting a 30" 340 shaft at 57@28" and would like to bump weight up with the insert but also dont wanna end up having to use an ultralight-weight broadhead to get it tuned right.

A 340 outta a 57 pound bow...yeah, even with the brass inserts, your broadhead will be anything but lightweight...

Hi!
I`m shooting about the same setup (350 Heritage, 60 grain TopHat long insert + 175 grain fieldpoint) from my Brackenbury Quest 60@29 (actually im drawing 28"). I`ve also tried the 100 grain inserts, flies as well, so it might work. Give it a try and bareshaft some!

Ethan, what bow you shooting bud?

Reason I ask, is that I'm shootng a 57@28" Horne longbow, drawn to 30" & the 340s are waaaay too stiff. My arrow setup is the Axis/MFX 400, full length, with 100gn HIT inserts & 200gn points. Anything less than 180 points & they show stiff! At 200gn up front these bareshaft perfectly out to 40yds

Sorry its a John Jordan Stalker T/D recurve 60" 57@28".I believe she is an eighth cut past center. The worry is that my Jordan at 54# and a 2" longer AMO shot 31 and a quarter inch 340 Axis with only 125grs up front and a standard insert.Granted this set-up was paper tuned at a compound oriented shop the arrows did fly like darts.I believe I will try the inserts though and see what happens.Bareshafting at 20 yds may prove a lot different than paper tuning would.Sorry for all the hassle.Just trying to keep from wasting cash on something I cant use.

Thanks,
