My wife has a friend living there with a new baby and we are planing a trip in March.   I may get a little free time while then hens are cackling.  Are there any trad shops in the city?

Thanks, Brant

I don't know about archery stuff but do yourself a favor and hit Scoma's on the wharf!  Take some of the leftover Christmas money though  :)   SanFran is a cool city.  Have some real fun by looking at a real estate mag for a little one bedroom bungalow.
Take a kid hunting!

No trad only shops in the SF Bay area. A few shops, closest to SF is in Daly City just a few miles south on the Penninsula. Plenty of clubs with great walking courses but most folks use online resources for trad equipment. The shops that do carry any trad equipment do so as an afterthought. I've considered getting into it but as noted above, to live in the gold fields and not be homeless you gotta pan for the color!

There is a range ran by the San Francisco Archers. I have a brother that lives in SF his daughter took me to the range a  beautiful place. I can't tell you where it is but a great bunch of people. Hope someone can give you directions.

I have not really found a Traditional-specific archery shop in the Bay Area, but Pacifica Archery (mentioned above) has about the most trad stuff.  If you bring your bow, check out the ranges at Sharp Park run by the San Francisco Archers or if you can find it, the range amoug the Redwoods at Huddart Park (about hour south of SF) run by King's Mountain Archer's are good choices.  I think both clubs have websites and directions.

As Dave said, both clubs have web sites.... I belong to both and will be happy to answer any questions you might have. The SF Archers have a potluck dinner every Sunday so that can be a good way to meet people. KMA is a bit more isolated.

I've been to the shop in Daly City, My Wife worked as a traveling Nurse for awhile in that area. When I was there they had a lot of Martin bows.

Nice people at Pacifica Archery. They do have an indoor range there and carry a wide range of archery gear. SF archers range in Pacifica, just over the hill from Pacifica Archery in Daly City, is a very, very nice range.

Too bad you not going during hunting season.  i here there is a monster buck running around a little piece of state land called Bohemian Grove.
