limb covers for hunting: does anybody use them?

I have been hunting some high pressure public land and its been tuff. The deer always seem to notice something. Im using my gilli suit and feel that im well covered but my friend tells me my bow sticks out like sore thumb. Just wondering if I should use some type of limb covers. I don't want to paint my bow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im looking for my first trad whitetail. Thanks.

The spandex bow socks work pretty well and are inexpensive... Give them a try

I use limb skins (spandex and cloth) for the same reason during our whitetail season.  I use them on my high country elk hunts too.

i like the spandex limb covers alot.They fit tight and protect the bows finish as well.I use the longbow covers on my recurve because they stretch alot and fit real tight.Those dont slide down the riser fadeouts very far though.If you want em to slide down the riser farther you should get the recurve cover for a recurve.excellant product.Been using them for years.

Cloth camo tape on two of my bows, snakeskin backing on some, I have even glued cheap camo cloth on a couple. I don't recommend this if you are selling your bows but I just hunt with mine.

My wife picked up some fleece camo material, some velcro and elastic to make a draw sting and made some to fit my bow.They work great.I use them more to protect the limbs than to hide them.Not a real tight fit but kind of a rough leafy appearence.
I just have to be careful where I set my bow down so I can find it again.

No but I have dark yew limbs and did miss a deer this year but the visibility of the limbs had nothing to do with it. I think my bow is beautiful-more so with some nicks and scratches that show it's been hunted with. Actually, they're not scratches, they're scars!    If it stops being so somehow I will get it refinished.

Seriously,anything you add to your bow limbs like a cover will slow it down. The answer is paint. But you said you don't want to paint it. At least you'll look good while scaring away the critters...   :p   Jk..

I had some on a white glassed bow.  One day I needed some tp real bad. They volunteered, and then I seramoniously burned them.  the next week I shot a deer on public land waring a tan jacket, blue jeans with that white bow.

I tried the spandex limb covers; but my hunting buddy beat me up. Now they are on my BOW limbs and life is fine.    :D

I still use the WWII colored camo "socks" I used on my recurve in the 60's.  They are a little worn and faded, but make the grade!

Will they slow the bow? I shot my thru the chrono with and without them. Difference is 0-2 ft per second. Virtually no difference on my bow.

Limbskinz on all my black-glass hunting rigs. Do I need it? I dont know, or really care for that matter; They look good!    :p

I like the spandex ones also.  If they slow my down, I sure can't see it in 20 yds.  After bow season, I take them off and enjoy the beauty of my bow.
