cornstalk shoot?

I see these cornstalk points from time to time, and I just don't understand I guess what exactly is a "cornstalk shoot"?

Cherokee archery game/contest. Two bundles or shocks of corn at about 100 yards. Shoot back and forth keeping score by number of corn stalks penetrated - that's why the long thin points.
