are tapered shafts spined the way as parallel shafts. had some on my spine tester last nite and then got to wondering.
also if i taper shafts i assume the spine will drop?

thanks for your insights

They are spined the same as parallel. Since most of the bending takes place in the middle of the shaft the drop in spine from tapering is minimal-no more than 2#.

I have found that when tapering the spine will change any where from 0# to 2#. I guess it depends on the individual shaft as to why some change more than others.
