Well, it was the opener today for bear. It has been snowing since yesterday and we have several inches of fresh wet snow. I was out looking for tracks, but no luck today. We are supposed to have rain tonight and tomorrow, so the snow will not last. Once it clears up, I'm sure the critters will be out looking for easier food. All last week I had a bear leaving his scat around my spot. Hope he will be back while I'm out there. This is my first year bear hunting and I'm going with the recurve.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Sounds like a blast! Good luck

Good luck Jerry. If your hunting in the Poconos there are some brutes there. I've seen at least a 400# hit on the NE extension a few years ago.
I'm sure you know there are a lot bigger bears in them there woods.

That's cool!  Keep us posted.

Jd, I'm after one that stole a doe from me this year. He is over 600# I'm sure.

My son & I hunted SGL 86 yesterday and had a plan put together for me to slowly work a half mile drainage towards the top with him slowly working to the top to meet me.  At 10 A.M. I cut fresh sign of a bear feeding on acorns and moved him towads my so.  I then heard a shot and when I got there some guy was dragging the bear towards his buddies who had just hit another one and was tracking it.  My son was just another 100 yds. up the draw.  So close!

Deadsmple

Hey brother, I'm glad you're going after him. Getting up close and personal with a bear is a blast! Even better when you let the arrow fly! Wish I had time to get out there with you. Good luck.
All praise is the Lords
