Cut throats

I bought these and never got a shot this season. Has anyone shot these at game with success?

I shot through the base of BOTH shoulder blades on a small deer this last season. Head looked like it had gone through butter!

This broad head will cut through some bone that's for sure. I killed a doe in Kansas this year with one. Steep angle at 7 yards. Busted through a rib on both sides. It was no worse for wear. I don't shoot heavy - 47# @ 28" and 485 grain arrow.

I do know they sharpen really well and easy.

I shot a few animals with them. I really like how sharp I can get them with my KME.

This one passed through so easily that it hit the rock behind pretty bad. You can see the impact on the tip.

I really like how easily you can sharp them and how though they  are, but the only report I have isn't completely positive also if I ain't sure any other BH could made it better.
15 days ago I shot a 150# class wild boar at 25yards with a 57# recurve ff and a 740grs arrow tipped by a Cutthroat 190 with a 125grs adapter -300 total and a 50grs brass insert.
The arrow took the spine and the boar felt on the ground streaming and squilling, for few second it was unable to rise but after a couple of rolls on the ground the arrow broke and away it went not at full gallop but pretty steady. I tracked for 1-1/2 hour but it never stopped  after half a mile I lost the poor blood trail. As long as I know the broadhead is still stucked in the spine.

Two small, eatin' size deer over the past two seasons. Biggest one field dressed at 105# and the smallest dressed at 92#. One shot was quartering away and blew the opposite leg in two, passing all the way thru and into the ground. Deer went 60 yards. Other one was also quartering away and the arrow deflected on a small branch hitting it in the spine near the shoulder blade. Arrow completely penetrated the spine and exited the neck/throat and fell to the ground. Deer dropped on the spot.

Heads are easy to sharpen and extremely tough. Not pleased with the deflected shot. The deer was feeding slowly, moving from my left to right and I did not see the limb. I believe that the broadhead along with a heavy arrow turned what could have been a marginal hit into an immediately fatal one.

Cutthroats are my favorite 2 blade head, with 3 blade VPAs being my favorite 3 blade. Limfetime warranty on both heads and both are mae by VPA.

I've taken 4 deer during the last 2 seasons with them. I really like them, and they are built like tanks. They are really easy to sharpen, even for me. I am done looking for the perfect head. I have already found it. That being said, I have used many, many heads during my 40+ years of bow hunting, and most did their job as long as I did mine--Pick a spot!

Did I see right, $46 EACH, no way.

I make my own bows for free except for the string material, trade turkey feathers for arrow shafts and essentially make my arrows for free. I do buy Zwickey broadheads but could buy a dozen for $46. I have never lost a deer I have hit correctly with a Zwickey or Magnus head.

I am just too cheap to play in the Cutthroat game.

They are built like Brick Sh*thouses.  I feel they are too nice for shooting small whitetails like I do and The grizzlys are damn similar(probably not as strong but way strong enough).  Grizzlys are half the price and good enough in my opinion without much sacrifice.

Cutthroats also have a lifetime warranty.  You can send them back for any reason and they will replace.  I hit a rock and bent the tip and took it in and they replaced no questions asked.  Ken

Yes a bit pricey. I did bite the bullet and buy some for a moose hunt a couple years ago. They are pretty awesome heads and easy to sharpen.

Now if they would only adopt the old warranty that "Uncle Henry" knives had for a while: "Guaranteed against loss"!!
