Hunting Mr Big

Have a look at this rub my son and I found this morning (note the big pile of shavings at the base of this tree).



This area has a number of other nice rubs like that one and a fresh scrape (one that I saw anyway - probably others).  Additionally, there are tons of 2-3 year old rubs all over this spot.

Guess where we are hunting tonight.  How could anyone not love this stuff?  :-D

Nada tonight.  I had a doe within about 15 yards (no shot possible at her) and a possum about the same distance and wide open.

I'd have shot the possum but since I have no intention of eating it or making a hat out it, I can't figure out what I'd do with a dead possum.  :-p

I've found a couple similar ones myself.  Back this summer I saw two nice bucks.  Either one could have made a rub like that.
