Looking to purchase a decoy - as much to see deer reactions & behavior as to increase my (minimal) harvest rate. I'm not a trophy hunter, but antlers are cool... Just looking for advice from those that've used decoys:
- Buck vs Doe decoy which is better, when or under what circumstances?
- Best "all around" decoy buck or doe? I don't have the capital to invest in multiple decoys.
- Favorite styles (silhouette or 3D) and brands? Considering portability, functionality, and return on investment.
- Personal advice or observations on using decoys. Love 'em or hate 'em?
Thanks in advance for any input!

I used doe decoy the 1st 2 weeks of nov. (rut )near scape lines with scents. head and tail rigged to move with the breeze. closed the deal on several bucks , does always hate the decoy.
As we get older our bow weight goes down and our body weight goes up, One of Lifes little jokes.

I've used the Montana doe successfully more than once.  I'm sure the buck would work but never tried it.  I'm thinking of upgrading and I'll probably go with a full body buck.  Any doe is going to seem spooky to a decoy but that doesn't mean you won't get a shot.

I have a Montana Decoy Dreamy Doe. I've had success with it a few times over the years. I just dug it out to use in a couple weekend when I'm able to head back out again. The one thing I do is add a long white seagull feather mounted on a thin wire to add some movement as tail. It flicks with the lightest breeze. This little movement add a curiosity factor.

I have decoyed deer for many years. Always use a buck . I set the decoy up about 25 yards away from me , facing me. Be sure he is up wind of you. Bucks will circle  a decoy and get down wind of it . You want the live deer to end up 10 to 15 yards from you in between you and the decoy.

this bucks circled the decoy 3 times.
