Hey guys, I'm a big fan of zwickys shot Eskimos for years.  This year I switched to eskilite and I'm having a hell of a time sharpening these damn things.  I use a Simmons sharpener, file and wheelie sharpener.  As soon as I get a good bur it breaks off and now I have a huge gouge in the blade.  Any ideas?

Does the file "skate" across the edge and not really bite?

Exactly that

I have used my KME broadhead sharpener on them with some diamond stones.  They get very sharp!

If a good file skates across thesteel, the steel is not tempered correctly. Contact Zwickey.

They are harder that the file. Stick with diamond stone. Maybe a b!$&@ to get an edge but I bet once sharp they stay that way

Thanks.  Recommend a good diamond stone?

Just like Butch stated above, contact Zwickey.  They will take care of you.  I had some Eskimos like that a couple of years ago.  I called the folks at Zwickey and they told me to mail them to them.  A short time later I got a nice, signed letter from Mr. Jack Zwickey explaining the problem, new broadheads,  money for mailing cost AND my original Eskimos that Mr. Zwickey personally reground!  (And yes, I still have them and the letter!!!)

As far as diamond goes I believe it is dmt that I have. Love them. Best I've used. Don't put a lot of pressure on diamond though. Just let it cut. If it's not cutting fast enough for you then use a courser stone. You can actually wear diamond out prematurely by using to much pressure
