Way to go Fling. Did your bud shoot with you? Let us know how he reacts when you tell him you cheated using your 3 piece.   :clapper:

Highlow Yes he did. He made sure he shot in my group. When the scores were added up and I beat him he got real quiet. I know tomorrow at work I'll hear about how much faster my bow shoots but not about all the targets he dropped

Truly a 'Sell Out' if you believe it yourself.

The choice of traditional freedom belongs to the individual.

Ha! When I was young and 19 years old, I made such a stupid comment myself.
I made any excuse for not being in first place. Then a couple of guys told me to put my money where my mouth was, they shot on my terms and trounced me. I paid them both 50 bucks each and it was money well spent. Biggest lesson I ever learned!

So you put it on your Trady-Trad-Trads friend. Good for you.

Do you remember the line from an old Ricky Nelson song? "You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself." It's a good line.

Your terrible... and I bet you don't even wear a loin cloth when you hunt!

I'll tell you what, after getting charged $150.00 U.S. extra to go and $225.00 U.S. extra to come back for my full length longbow in a fishing rod case which they considered a third piece of baggage on my trip to Alaska - there's no way that I'm traveling on a commercial airline without a takedown longbow that fits in my duffel bag!

And they wouldn't let me tape it to one of my bags. Possibly because it was long, or they were afraid it would come apart (only one baggage check tag per unit).

Your smart, that's all.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

That's what I like to hear! Congrats man!
As good as you shot that self bow I knew you would be dangerous with a 3 piece

Corey she's not a fancy as that beautiful Palmer you shoot but for only having her for less than 24 hours and winning a shoot I would say she fits me.  By the way she's a Big Foot Sasquatch TD longbow. And dose she shoot an arrow.

Negative, not a sell out you just like a little variety and a 3 pc. is practical.  I have and like both.  A 66" bow is not a lot of fun getting in and out of the truck.

How has no one asked what kind of 3 pc. longbow did you buy?  As I have heard here "without pics it did not happen"     ;)

I have heard it said also.

I have mostly three piece bows. If someone wants to wish their opinions on me well then I'll pray for them. Enjoy what you want and don't worry about what anyone else wants you to be.

I have both, but prefer the extra weight of the three piece along with the convenience for traveling.
Shoot whatever you enjoy at the moment. We do this for fun!

Unless you're shooting a selfbow that you felled the tree, shaped and finished the bow, then made arrows out of shoots, and made your self nocks using nothing but stone tools that you shaped and fashioned yourself, you're a sellout.

Just kidding!!!!!  Shoot what you like and what you shoot well-just have fun!!!

Agree with those who said why worry what anybody else shoots-shoot what you want and be done with it.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

What selfbow19953 said but forgot to add hide glue or pitch !
I will only buy and shoot 2-3 pc bows and have an ilf on order. Shooting bows with modern glue / glass/ thin lams made possible by power tools etc really blurs what is trad or not.
I am not going to be captive to one source of bow components ,  that's why ilf and yes the fact I can tune arrows without messing with point weights also rocks
