After quite a bit of research, I am booking a Quebec caribou hunt for the week of August 28th through September 3rd of 2017. Right now, I have two other guys signed up to go and a third one is thinking about it. The camp holds six and I would just as soon have it all be trad bowhunters.

The outfitter we are using is Jack Hume Adventures. This outfitter has been in business a loooong time and is the name that always pops up when you talk about caribou hunting these days.

The hunt is six days long and is unguided. There will be one guide in camp but he will act more like a camp manager than anything else. Food, lodging and transportation are provided but we do the cooking. That's okay because I'm a pretty fair hand with a skillet and don't mind doing it.

The cost of the hunt is $6400 but each hunter gets a $100 discount if we book four people in the camp and a $200 discount if we book all six. The cost covers your tags for 2 caribou (1 bull and 1 cow or immature bull). All you need to do is figure out how to get to Montreal and JHA will take it from there.

The 2017 slots are booking pretty quickly so I need to move on this pretty fast. I have got JHA to pencil me in for those dates but he needs a deposit of 1/3 the booking price to lock it in.

The success rate at JHA is very, very good and their reputation is stellar. I know several bowhunters who have done this hunt and they all had good things to say about it. Go to  JHA Caribou Hunt Packages   for more details.

While gun hunting is allowed, I'm just looking for bowhunters. Contact me if you're interested!

sounds like a dream hunt- just out of my league!

It's too bad our cdn dollar is in the dumps right now. If it was $6400 cdn it would be doable but that would end up being $10000 for us.

I'm in, if you will have me.

Maybe we can something together one of these days, Mike. It sure would be fun! Kill a turkey and send me a picture.

Tempting. I've wanted to hunt caribou ever since I became a bowhunter in the late 1960's.

These days though I organize hunts that include my friend, son, and brother.

Man I love caribou hunting but it was always the cheapy hunt for me while I lived in Alaska. The moose were always within 400 yards of my back door but the caribou was a blast!

Oh, I WANT to, but it won't happen.  Have a great hunt.

Wow, sounds fun.

I went in 2002 to Kuujuarappik (spelling is close).

It's way Northern Quebec. It's on the map.

A true Native village.

It took 3 plane rides from Wisconsin and an overnight in Montreal. Big walk-in freezer at the Montreal hotel. Both the hotel folks and the Canadian airlines know how to take care of your meat.

You are going to be sick when I tell you that a 2 Caribou hunt was $2800 back then.

I have always been afraid to go on another Caribou hunt as we hit the migration perfectly, all ten of us filled our tags in the first three days, went fishing for the rest of the trip, and I scored two Pope and Young qualifiers, which I am not interested in recording, but both look great on the wall, and remind me of a super hunt.

I've been afraid I could never duplicate a hunt like that one.

I would say if anyone is on the fence, they should just go if they can.

It's doubtful a trip like that is going to decrease in cost.

Please give us a hunt report complete with photos.

Best of Luck.
