I recently got a cresting machine. I have not built any arrows yet, but I taken some broken shafts and have been practicing. It is not all that hard, but it is not all that easy, either. It may be a while before I make anything worth a picture.

My cresting is crude compared to others on here mainly because my antique cresting machine wobbles my arrows some.

I spray Paint the cap. One spray clear acrylic then Crest with Model paint and clear over the top of that.

My cresting is not as sharp as most.  Partly because no matter how straight your wood shafts look, the crester will show that they have a bit of wobble.

Here are two sets I just completed.  The green ones are for spring turkey and are made up of poplar shafts that I spun out on a Veritas.  Should have made the green ones less colorful for turks, but I got carried away.

The pink ones are from Acme 23/64 shafts that I thought I had used all of but came across 11 of them in a dark corner.  For fall big game if I don't break em, lose em, or otherwise discombobloate em before then.    :biglaugh:   They are spined 70# but I tapered the rear 10 inches and that tamed them down.

I'm kind of cheap and do mine with Sharpie and Pilot pens.
