As we get older our bow weight goes down and our body weight goes up, One of Lifes little jokes.

Whatever side I hit.....that's what I was aiming at... promise.

Use the side. The round side sometimes you'll lose your arrows. One of the clubs we shoot 3d at uses them on their practice range and even compounds don't dig in all the way.

The "rounded" or convex side, not the flat side.

A lot can depend on the tension the baler packed the bale.  Older balers can often have loose pack and even a side shot can get lost, especially if you hit off center a bit.  Regardless, don't shoot directly into the round end.  You can cheat and shoot the round end at a steep angle.

Round side, you could lose it in the ends.

Shoot the side opposite the feeding horses!!
Seriously now, take 3-4 ratchet straps and crank the bale as tight as it can go and shoot away.

The Whittler

Use blunts as they won't penetrate as deep.
