There always has been a lot of squirrels on my wifes bird feeder my son and I have been trying to shoot one for along time he wants squirrel stew. Sounds good! I was at the kitchen sink getting a drink of water and noticed a squirrel on the feeder. I thought to my self this a good opertunity to put my camera skills to the test so I grabed my wifes digital camera set it on the window sill  and carefully slid the window up  with the camera Rollin I drew back hit my anchor point and sent the cedar shaft through the air and I missed! But the squirrel stayed right there.I quickly loaded again with camera still goin I drew again and the cedar rocket went through the air this time i connected perfect he hit the ground i sat down my widow and went to get my stew with camera still going. I come back in side to watch my first video I grabed the camera of the window and inslow mo I watched it slip from my hands in to a. Sink full of dish water!!!!! Nice job god i love my wife she looked at me like I was  an idiot . I hope that it was worth it.

Ouch! You could buy a lot of Dinty Moore for that one!

You can learn to shoot squirrels and small game with practice and patience. Clumsiness is forever!    :goldtooth:   I'm just playing around but you gotta treat the lady to a nice dinner now!

Well, if it was digital, you should at least have the squirrel video on the chip.

I droped my wifes digital camera in the drink while fishing 2 months ago. I took the batteries out and set it on the shelf when I got home. Went and bought the wife a new one the next day.  About 2 weeks later I put the batteries in the old one and it continues to work perfectly.  I would never have believed it, and now we have matching cameras.

Elknutz is right. Let it dry completely, chances are it will work. Just dont try when it is still wet. I always use the hand-me-down cameras. The wifes camera is saved for family outings where everything is safe and dry.

Buy a new one that will work for hunting. Oh and move the feeder back so its out of range from the kitchen sink.

I was waiting to read how you shot the window!

Sc0

I was thinking that the window closed on the camera, but your ending is just as tragic.

Blackwidow36

the camera lens has water spots on it and when you turn it on it trys to focus and tells you to shut it down and retry later. besides when i did it i whent out to the garage turn the air compresser on and when i hit the air it blew the shuter apart oops!!! there is alot of little parts in the shutter.

I was expecting to hear that you shot the feeder, but that would be cheap compared to the camera!

Well next time it happens pull the battery, hand dry it as much as possible, put it in a ziploc bag with a cup of rice and seal.  The rice will draw the moisture out of the camera.  Won't help with water stains on the lense though.
