Since you have the mesh...now you can start buying - and using - some of those 75 and 80# bows!

P.S.  Inny belly buttons are just dust collectors.

David,

Unfortunately, he didn't operate on my right shoulder.  That's why all of my bows are in the 45# to 47# range!

:)

I do Orthopedic rehab. for most of my income, and I keep my bows in the high 40s to low 50s as a general rule.  Since I only shoot 3D and hunt only Eastern whitetail... well, there's no reason (that I can think of) to go higher.

Best wishes on the recovery!

I just sent a prayer for a successful surgery and complete recovery. I'm glad you let us know and you will soon be hunting trad again.

It's been two days since the surgery and I feel much better today than I did yesterday.  I quit taking the Tylenol III and started taking my Naprocen.

I know that feeling.   Last year I had problems with my left hand and my right rotator cuff was torn.   I had a radical hand surgery in December that required about 8 months for full recovery.   I also went through some non surgical sports med procedures on my shoulder and it took about 7 months to repair all of that damage.  In short, last season was a bust.

Best of luck to you and we're hoping for your speedy recovery.   You'll be back better than ever.

Well I had to go back to the Doctor this morning.  I got up as usual, went out and got the paper, fixed my bowl of cereal and sat down to eat.  As I was reading the bottom of one page my lower peripheral vision picked up a dark blotchy stain on the t-shirt I wore to bed.  I lifted it up and there was a bunch of dark, dried blood in my belly button.

The doctor cleaned out the dried blood and said it was a clot that blew out of one of the blood vessel ends that he had seared shut during the button up procedure.  He said it wasn't unusual and that it likely occurred when I strained for a bowel movement or when I reached to catch myself when I stumbled.

I actually think it was due to an overly long day of work yesterday plus a 3 hour Deacon's meeting on top of it.  It was a long tiring day.  Even though the doctor said I could shoot my bow in 6 weeks, I'm now thinking more like February.  I want to heal completely and thoroughly before I try to go back to  shooting my recurve.  I haven't even looked at my bows in since a week ago Saturday when I went for a morning of deer hunting 4 days before my surgery.  Can't go there, they are so pretty I would be tempted!

Good luck Bill.  Your health is way more important than a hunt!!  You can live with out hunting...

Thoughts and prayers for you Bill. Just don't push it.

You will be back next year and that may even be pig hunting the end of Feb.

Earl,

Oh so true.  And in the middle of March SC's turkey season opens on private land.  The land where I deer hunt has an abundance of turkeys to hunt.
