A while back a sponser posted with pics, how he made silencers out of wool yarn.

I've done a search and for the life of me I can't find it.

Been about a month ago...any body know where it is?

You can use wool yarn from wally world, It won't be anything like bow hush or hush puppies. The yarn from wally world is way thinner.

Merino wool works best.  I get mine at fabric stores.  Just take several hanks of thick merino wool yarn and lay them together.  Tie them in the middle with a loose knot.  Put them in the string where you want them and then cut the stirng holding them together.   They work great.

Skill is not born into anyone.  It is earned thru hard work and perseverance.

Wool is surprisingly effective-weighs very little and silences a lot.

its what i have used for a long time now. cheap and easy. i buy two different colors of merino wool and make silencers using both colors. always seem to work better than anything else i tried. ad i like the way they look  :)

I cut mine 3" long and tie 3 per string top and bottom.

I wrap wool yarn around 3 fingers about 10 times, tie it in the middle, slip it between the string strands, cut the tie, cut the loops, shoot it a few times to fray the wool.  Then I made 2 cardboard templates out of a beer can tracing and sandwich the wool balls in them and trim the edges.  I do this on all sides shooting once in a while.  It will leave neat balls of wool on the string.

Picked up the wool yarn shown in the link and it made a nice difference on my recurve.   Thanks for the link.
