Finally got rid of my compound the other day. I hadn't shot it in quite some time.

Strictly sticks and strings from here on out.

I hear what you are saying.  I sold mine 2 weeks ago and have no regrets.

Have no desire to shoot my compound, but its still hanging in the basement. I am addicted to traditional bowhunting, and have been for about 2 years now.  Haven't shot anything with my Black Widow yet, but hopefully this coming fall.

When I shot my first tradtional bow down a Dan Quillian Archery Tradtions shop while visiting my brother,I came home and sold my compound within two weeks. And I never looked back,I was hooked and that was many many years ago.I just get so much more satisfaction shooting traditional bows.

I started in Trad this past December.  The arrangement I have with my wife is that I have to bring home a deer with a Trad bow before the compound can go.

I practice with Trad every day.  Haven't shot the compound since I took a deer with it last November.

I hope to be selling my compound this fall too.

I can honestly say that one of the best days in my life was when I made the decision to step away from the wheels and take up the trad bow.

All my friends here on this site that I've never met  have helped me out immensely. You are in the right place.

Bounced around for a while and finally made the switch, had to sell the compound to be committed and have not regretted it for nearly 6 years now. One deer, one elk, one turkey , one pheasant and havin fun!!!

Sold my compound in May last year, had my black widow in my hands in July and hunted the tar out of it.

I have drawn it twice on game, one muley doe and one big javelina have fallen.

This year I am going to hunt all five species of deer with my widow.  I only regret wasting so much time before making the jump.

Welcome, hunting is hunting and my best buddies hunt with compounds, but I know without a doubt that I have a superior weapon at the ranges I hunt.

I also know that I have more fun shooting than I ever have, and my bow is far more durable than any coumpond's ad could even lie and say it is...
Give me a bow a topo and two weeks, and I guarantee I kill two weeks!

I haven't decided to make the jump yet, but I know what you mean by having more fun shooting. Since I've picked up a recurve (2 months ago) I've been shooting everyday. It gets frustrating sometimes, but is always fulfilling.

Every once in while I'll take out my compound and shoot a couple of dozen. Not fun, but instant accuracy. The only problem with that accuracy is fine balance it takes between the chain of mech. aids it requires, (i.e. Release, Peep, Sight, drop rest, Rangefinder, etc.)

This is my first year archery mule deer hunting and I'm just not confident enough yet to make the jump. It would feel great to get rid of all that stuff, just waiting to break or misalign, and just hunt but I don't know if my paltry 15-20 yds is good enough for the alpine mule deer hunting I want to do.

AF_TT

I just got rid of my extra compounds and have my 1 now. I do have 2 stick bows now. I figure by next year I will be strictly traditional.
I just enjoy traditional archery so much more!

I am unlike many "traditional" bowhunters and carry a rangefinder.  I almost exclusivly hunt very steep terrain where 40 looks like 20 some places.
