first one, hot off the press, 68", 45.2# @ 29", cocobolo riser and all overlays, trapped limbs with actionboo cores under black glass.  the handle is a locator style under a laced leather elk skin - a straight hill-style grip is also offered, as well as brown or white glass.

smooth drawing and shooting, i mean SMOOTH as silk, what a pleasure, stability and speed on tap.  the string is an 8 strand d'02 endless that i immediately spun up.  now i need one that's a t/d and in a higher hunting weight.

Sweet looking unit Rob, I love the contrast of the riser wood and the boo.

right from the newly updated mohawk website ...

The Mohawk Classic longbow utilizes actionboo cores and veneers under solid colored glass, with solid wood risers and overlays and no multi woods, stripes or accents, available in 64", 66" and 68" lengths only.

Cool looking bow. I wonder how a 68"er would feel getting Muddied? I wouldn't want to change anything except the handle(straight). At my 28" draw the weight would be about perfect.

Lets us know how she shoots. I won't be looking for one in the ads anytime soon since you got #1...lol

Thanks for sharing!

God bless,Mudd

That's a Beauty For Sure! I'm guessing it's as smooth as silk too...

mudd, as i mentioned in the first post, she's a shooter alrighty.  i'm liking the actionboo cores - extremely smooth, and they work well with the limb and riser geometry, allowing good arrow speed at least to the 33 yard distance used during my testing.

this bow meets all my necessary requirements for a 'superb shooter' - super smooth on both the draw and release, not even a hint of stacking as far as i could pull it (perhaps 32"), good 'pointability', very stable and shock free on the release, really good arrow speed for such a light holding weight (45#) ... likes heavy arrows, too.

DISCLAIMER: vince makes a superb longbow and is a great feller to boot ... but make no mistake, folks - i have no allegiance to any bowyer and if i found a problem with a 'hawk i'd first bring it to vince's attention and then report back here at powwow about the problem and the outcome.

eventually i'm gonna get another t/d 'hawk, but with actionboo cores and tonkin cane veneers under clear glass, 66"/50#.
