Just wanted to see what everyone is doing for a natural blind. This is one I made the other day thats on the edge of a swamp and gully. The gully is in front of me if im sitting on the bucket.

Got 2 nice trials coming by so hopefully ill get a shot at something. This is the style blind we use I prefer some front coverage but weve found long as you got a good back ground to help break you up and blend in the deer usually dont pay much mind but im still debating. I think with the tree and the rest of the debree I piled up behind me I should be ok.  If anyone has photos post them up.

I like your set up.. Plenty of cover behind you. How do you expect the deer to come? Left to right head on or broadside? From behind quartering away (when the wind allows the blind set this way) is DEADLY on deer... If all works out next week I have a ground blind set in this exact situation. It all depends on the wind direction...

I would choose a "lower" seat. The bucket will have you to high and too easy for deer to catch your movement.  I've used a Niff T Seat (without any of the height tubes) for years with superb results.  I practice shooting my bow sitting on this seat as well. I have found the lower I can get the better.

Let the deer pass PAST you, draw slow and you will get them killed...! Ground hunting is a bunch of fun.

Theres 2 trails one would bring the deer by in front of me left to right. The other trail kind of hooks behind me and goes through the swamp. Ive seen alot of deer travel this area over the years just never got a chance to hunt it. Ive been looking at tree seats in Cabelas. I like them because you can pack them with you and just throw it around a tree and you can hunt.

Built this last year with my girl...saw some deer but haven't gone back to huntor check up on it since last november...I should make my way over there I spose!  Hunted a whole week with my brother out of this and it did its job just gotta patterns the deer a little better.

 

Heres what we see...in theory them deer are spose to walk in front of us but they now decided to walk behind us...gotta play around with it this year.

Great blinds guys. I too believe full camo is important. Like I said ill be using a leafy wear suit in orignal Mossy Oak Breakup with boonie hat. I also like the old Mossy Oak Treestand pattern for hunting in the Hemlocks. Really seems to match the bark and makes you blend very well.

Hey Joe you always seem to find them wet dark holes and hunker down in em   :p

please remember to camo your HANDS, they move around lot.
