Ok so my girlfriend wants to go hunting and kill a deer. She can just pull legal weight here for NJ (35#) and I will need to get her a new bow for it. Her draw length is 22".

I had her shoot my widow but she said the bow is to heavy (mass wise) for her.

I am looking for some bows that I can maximize energy out of at her short draw and low poundage.

So what would you guys suggest?

shrew, griffen - don't go crazy on woods, any you are in good shape.  John had a few bows on the tablew that were short and light (and pink hued).  I say to give him a call.  Someone likely has a 'curve answer for you.

how about a quinn comet?

Give Mike at Maddog a call. He makes very nice bows that won't break the bank.

At the upper end of the price range, check out A&H Archery;  they have a reputation of getting high performance from lower draw weights.

Give them a call they can probably steer you towards customers with experience in that draw length/draw weight  

I got my wifr a Hornes brush bow. She shoots it well. It is a 62" long bow with a semi pistol grip Light in the hand and good speed. It is 35@28" good bow for the money. My wife does not like a heavy bow either. Good luck.

Everyone who shot the foam core 35@28 limbs and 41@29 standard limbs from Black Swan at ETAR was pretty impressed.

My wife shoots a 17" Dalaa with short Windstorm limbs.IMHO the ability of the Dalaa to crank down the limb preload really helps her short draw.

A Turkey Creek would fit the bill as would any higher performance bow.The fastest bows are still going to be the fastest at the shorter draw length.What ever you get her matching the right arrow for here will make all the difference.

A Whisperstik recurve would be a great choice.

The Black Widow PSR is light weight and flings a arrow if you are willing to spend the money.

Chad makes an absolute screamer in the Lost Creek.  I think he has a new shorter model too.

For the ultimate in smoothness, I'd go with a GN Ghost in a recurve or a Mohawk in a longbow. Both are so smooth they don't feel near the weight you're pulling.

The Lost Creek and Mohawk can be had for under $500.

I'd throw my vote for the chek-mate falcon.  Had a 35#'r for the female and it was a fun shooter that hardly ever was shot.  :\\

The newer female has a newer bow and can shoot more weight to boot ..... and actually hunts    

She's shooting a 40# Greatree Volcano and it is a heck of a bow for about the same price and only 58".  I can shoot it out to 30" no problem.

Either one is a good bargain for a great bow.

The Predator recurve was actually one of the fastest bows Blackie tested.....more so than the A&H bows, so don't get wrapped up in a name.

Don't overlook the newer Samick line, some great bows that shoot as well as custom models.  Be sure to optimize it with a good custom string that isn't overbuilt, and consider a stick-on rest to add a little more performance.  You can get a great hunting bow for her without breaking the bank....spend the rest the the accessories whe will need.

I'm pretty impressed with that purchase even though it's a ferin import.

Knowing the nature of the Centaur double carbons they would be my first pick!!!
