I was wondering if anyone has or has had one of these bows. I just picked one  up on fleabay.54",53@28" Rosewood riser, brown glass. I remember they were a popular bow in the mid 80's,early 90's. Any opinions on em? I like the bows from that era, take's me back to my younger days!

I really shot few arrows with the 48"-60# limbs, they did nt stuck at my 29",quiet too.For the few arrows I guess they are good since 15yds.But beautyful indeed. In October when I'll be back from the Rockies I will test them and let you know, compared to the Bear Super Mag. and Kodiak Mag

My first custom bow was a Rocky Mountain Recurve, loved that bow. It was 60" and I had two sets of limbs, 65lbs. and 56lbs. Killed an awful lot of deer with that bow. Sold it a couple of years ago. They always shot where you looked.

KENDALL TECHAU

Sounds good! I picked it up for a ground blind and ladder stand bow.

knobby

You did well on that trade. I had a Rocky, too, and it was a real nice bow. I have no idea where it is today, but that's my loss. And yes, Schlaggerman DID kill an awful lot of deer with that bow,'cause I probably helped get most of them out of the woods. I killed a few deer with mine (and looked better doing it), but he did kill more.

wahoo

I have one ,haven't shot it in a long time . Great looking and a great shooter.

Is this bow an original John Morris Rocky Mtn? Nice looking bows and pretty decent shooters. Good luck with it.
"Neal...is this heaven?" "No Piute but we are dam close". Top of the Mtn in Medicine Bow Nat Forest.

schlaggerman

Yes, Knobby probably did look better shooting his bow. But, he sure looked like hell helping me drag my deer out of the woods, his tongue hung out a lot. Not a good look. Oh, the fond memories!

KENDALL TECHAU

I should have the bow on Wed or Thurs. I'll post a picture and let you know how it shoots. Sounds like you WI fellas have some good memories! Nothing like a good hunting buddy.

Doug Campbell

Yep, John built a nice bow, I think I've got the only one he ever put snake skins on hanging on my wall. If I wasn't so in love with my longbows I'd be shooting it some...

Looks good.I always wanted to try one and almost had one custom made many moons ago.I like the deflexed riser alot.Should be stable and pointable.

I own two 56" Rockys. They are classic recurves to the max. Super quiet and the easiest bows to string I've ever owned. Both of mine are skinned, one with rattlesnake and the other with copperhead.
