Howdy -

I picked up my first, second and third traditional bows all in one trade today.  I've had the itch to get back into archery for awhile (my prior archery experience being a compound 20 years ago).

I now have a Bear Kodiak Hunter, a Bear Bearcat, and a Browning Cobra.  The Bearcat 60"/40# I believe will be good for grouse and wandering about, the Kodiak Hunter 60"/48#, will be my Black Bear bow (if I am fortunate enough to get an opportunity).

The Cobra I'm not quite sure what to do with.  It is a 50", 64# bow (I am 6'4" with a 29" to 30" draw).

Have any other tall shooters had success with these shorter recurves?  It looks like it would be a breeze to carry thru the brush, and handy in a treestand.  I hate to mention a mechanical release on a trad forum, but that might buy me and extra few " of draw.

Should I play with it, or sell/loan it to one of my more normal sized friends?

Thanks in advance.

My two cents worth on the Cobra.  I have a Bear Kodiak Magnum(52" amo).  The finger pinch becomes a problem after 27" draw.  You may get other opinions, but with a long draw, and especially 64#, you may develop shooting form problems.  I'd stay with the longer and lower draw weight bows.  The Cobra's are cool bows though.

and the last river been poisoned
and the last fish been caught

Sell it.  It's simply too short for your draw.

Sell it or trade it for something a little longer.
