i have a chance to buy a robertson stykbow and need some input on the performance and quality of these bows. thanks in advance....larry  

rECURVE OR LONGBOW??

Dick builds bows that are in the top 1% for quality, looks, and performance and he has been doing it since 1978!  Each bow is a work of art.  My 64# @ 29" recurve shoots a 720 grain arrow at 185 fps and sent a 500 grain carbon through the chrono at 220 fps.  Those were done with a shooting machine with a mechanical release so figure 5 to 6 fps slower with a finger release.  Joseph

none better im opinion, and a nice man that is very helpful to boot!  Do not know about his recurves never shot one but his longbows are world class

It is long time now I am shooting Robertson bows(recurves)they are very easy to fine tune, being not to much sensitive at nocking point placement arrow spine. You will be always able to find the right arrow pretty quick. They are feather light but really stable, forgiving the arrows go where you are looking. I owned more than a dozen no one being less than excepional. I'll buy more in the future because every time I compare his bows with other bowyers one I finish saying myself why spend time with something less.  Felix

its a double wave t\\d recurve..cocobolo handle and limbs...sad part is its to heavy at my draw..its 58@ 28 and my draw length is 30-31..to bad ...600.00 bucks is a good price  :(

have a stykbow and his vision falconv,,,booth are UNBELIEVABLE..if yours is a takedown.and poundage is too heavy..just contact him for price of limbs..600.00 is a good buy on that bow..or you could post a WTB thread on the bow section here..

thanks to all.cant shoot over 55 pounds joseph,have some lower back issues that flare up when i shoot heavier than that,i'm a big guy and i've shot 100 pounders (wheelies) but those days are history.  

i do wonder if he may be able to take some weight off the limbs ?

very stable, solid and trustworthy bow (recurve). Excellent in customer service, 2 yr warrenty and he prorates the following 2 yrs (I believe). Can't go wrong.

It's been a dream of mine to own one!

Old post, but I ran across it.  I have been shooting a Robertson Mystical recently.  Super quiet, and really good cast for a longbow.  I am impressed, and I usually shoot recurves!

Dick's bows are the Top of the line in quality and performance. Looking at his website lately, he has a good source for some "out of this world" wood. Those recurves are some of the best looking I've ever seen. I've had/have their longbows and they are as good as they get.

One of the best bowyers ever, each bow is a work of art and performs at least as well as they look.  Dick is a great guy to talk with and so is his family, a wealth of information just a phone call or email away.  I would be hard pressed to say enough about his bows or character and would recommend that any traditional archer have owning and shooting one of Dick's bows on their bucket list, Joe Flikkema

I love myrtle and those stock bows that are on the Robertson site are out of this world.  I have to check them out every now and then.  Very tempting!  If I "needed" another bow, it would be a tossup between a fatal styk or one from one of the topnotch bowyers from Oregon where myrtle grows.
