I have thought about sewing my Seat of the Pants safety belt into a hunting vest such as the Primos or Cabelas.
Any one tried this?
The safety vests on the market just don't have the storage capacity I like.

I used to use a vest, but like you found I didn't like not having enough pockets, so I went back to using a regular harness under my coat.

bama, not sure how it would work but should.  I had a seat of the pants for years.  I bought the hunter safety vest system and like it.  Two great advantage's to what you are thinking (I thought about it too).  One The vest is built with the linemans loops so can have hands free hanging standk and climbing, two the vest is adjustable, so when wearing the cold geat and loosen it up a bit.  Oh yeah, one of the favorite feature's is the leg straps, they have buckles like a car seat belt really comfy.
