I do not know that much about these, I did a search but didn't find much.
What do you guys think about them?

I don't own one, but have shot a couple of his recurves - one of them quite a bit, and a couple of his longbows.  Those bows were all made at least 6+ years ago, so I don't know if what he makes today is any different.  The ones I shot were both fast and quiet - especially the recurves.

I shot thru a couple of 3D tourneys with Rick back 5-6 years ago and he is a good guy - quite a shooter, too.

I love mine.  Been shooting one the past 2 seasons both for whitetails and an African hunt.  I don't know what it is, but it seems like Rick really stumbled upon something with the limb design.  They are fast and pack a punch.  I like the wide shelf on the riser.  Makes arrow tuning much easier. This bow and a Habu recurve are my go to bows.  Ricks website is  www.dakotabows.com   Check 'em out.

I have a buddy who has two--he sold his DAS after he got them.  He took them to Africa on a cape buffalo hunt this fall.  He seems to like them very much....Dave
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

I have two  recurves     love them both. Shot my first bear with  one  this year   and  won a few       3d shoots last  summer with the other. Don

A friend of mine shot one for an entire 3D SEASON 2years ago.It was a 50# recurve,he places in the top 3 in our area always. Now granted he is one of those guys you could put most any bow in his hand and he would do well, but he liked it enough to shoot it for a whole season.

They are excellent shooters, super quite, and a great value as well.

I love my Dakota Hunter! Rick really hit it outta the park for me!

I'll second the great value comment.  I've shot alot of recurves and never found any I liked more than Ricks bow and the Habu.  Rick never used to make his bows very flashy, as far as looks goes, but he is now.  I have seen some pictures of some of his new ones that are real lookers.  Here is an interesting thing too.  Take one of his bows and shoot it while having someone video tape you.  Now watch it in slow motion.  Notice the way the limbs pretty much stop dead after the shot.  Now try this with another bow, and watch how the limbs oscillate wildly after the shot.  It's gotta be why Ricks bows have no handshock.  I had one of the most expensive, and for sure the most beautiful bows money can buy and sold it after this test, and after shooting ricks bows.  I really like them.

By the way, my Dakota that Rick built is quieter and has less vibration than my Habu recurve, but the recurve is a little older model.  I have not shot any of the Habus since Chris started making the viperkahn, but I intend to try one and will probably order one.
