I made my ailing wife feel better today...I finally killed the "B*tch that eats all her flowers"!!       (or at least the MOTHER of all the ones that do!)

With little time to spare for hunting this season, I decided with all the guns booming around the area to just go behind my house and bowhunt the "locals", something I NEVER do. We've had this one particularly big doe living on our property for years now and she's raised many a fawn at my wife's landscaping expense. I knew where she spent most of her time, and headed for there and set up there near a blowdown in the icy pre-dawn calm.

Luckily, it wasn't long in the 15 degree chill before I had action. There was no doubt that it was her coming along the trail followed by her most recent prodigy, so I decided to christen my new Bear Supreme TD and from 18 steps, slid a big cedar sliver tipped with a vintage razorhead behind her shoulder- ending the reign of the long-standing matriarch. She only went about 60 yards, and the "princess" never had a clue what happened until I emerged from my ground blind.

It's always hard to judge the size of game w/ me in the picture at a mere 325#    ;)   , but you can believe she is one big momma! I estimate she was at least 7.5 and still in prime condition.

When the wife is happy, I'm happy....of course, now I'm told I have to get the "Princess" as well, because she knows where all the Hasta plants are too!!     :knothead:

The things we do for love.  Next time the wife says you don't do anything for her, reminder her of this.  You slaved away in frigid weather to protect her plants.  You are a knight in shining camoflage.

Cool story!

I like your taste in bows. Been lusting for one of those supreme TD's for some time. Looks like you shoot it well!
